WHY LTC? WHY NOW?

We have learned that people in inner cities and underserved communities for some time has lacked resources when it comes to basic technology.  Our communities lacks access to devices, training and the internet.   In the world we live in today this is not a privilege it is a right to have access to technology.  We also discovered that African Americans make up approximately 7% of the workforce when it comes to the technology industry as a whole, with less than .6% in leadership and .4% in technology business ownership.

Why is this a problem? This is a problem because our community are large technology consumers.  We spend about 39 billion dollars a year on tech gadgets.   Another critical area to look at is that our U.S. Government (Tax Dollars) is projected to spend 2 Trillion Dollars on technology development  and programs.   So if only .4 percent of technology businesses are Black owned how much of that 2 Trillion would come to our community?  The time is now for us to close the digital divide and increase our technology literacy.
